To be eligible for judging, all teams must build a functional prototype during the hackathon and complete all required submission deliverables on Devpost before the deadline.
🛠️ 1. What You Need to BuildYour project must address one of the official hackathon tracks and present an innovative, viable solution designed for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, or the wider GCC market.
-
Working Software or Hardware Prototype: Submissions must include a functional build (e.g., web application, mobile app, AI agent/model, smart contract, or connected hardware demo). Pure slide decks or wireframe concepts will not qualify for main prizes.
-
Original Work Built During the Event: All code and core functionality must be written during the hackathon timeline. You may use open-source libraries, existing frameworks, and public APIs, but pre-built proprietary applications are strictly prohibited unless a major new feature or complete pivot was built specifically for this event.
-
Dual-Market or Cross-Border Relevance: Your solution should demonstrate tangible impact, scalability, or market fit within the UAE, Saudi Arabia, or the broader regional ecosystem.
Your Devpost project submission must contain the following four key items:
1️⃣ Project Details & Written Pitch
Fill out the Devpost project questionnaire thoroughly:
-
Project Name & Tagline: A clear title and a compelling 1-sentence summary.
-
The Problem: What specific friction point in the UAE/Saudi market are you addressing?
-
The Solution: How does your product solve this problem?
-
Target Market & Viability: Who are your end users or customers? How can this scale post-hackathon?
-
Tech Stack & Architecture: Detail the programming languages, frameworks, cloud services, or APIs used.
-
Challenges & Breakthroughs: What hurdles did your team face and overcome during the build?
2️⃣ Video Demo (2 to 3 Minutes)
Provide a public link to a video host (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, or Loom) showing your solution in action.
-
0:00 – 0:45: The problem statement, pitch, and cross-border value proposition.
-
0:45 – 2:00: Live product demonstration walking through core user flows and key features.
-
2:00 – 3:00: Technical architecture summary and future roadmap.
⚠️ Note: Videos consisting only of slide presentations without showing a functional software interface or working system demo will receive significant scoring deductions.
3️⃣ Public Code Repository
-
Provide a direct link to a public repository (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.) containing the project code written during the event.
-
Include a README.md file with quick-start instructions on how to set up, build, or test your project locally.
4️⃣ Live Demo Link (Optional, but Recommended)
-
Include a direct link to a hosted deployment (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, AWS, mobile test link, or interactive web app) so judges can test your application directly.
